This pretty well shreds the longtime Republican denial of Russian direct hacking of our elections.
Not a topic they want to discuss.
I noticed how quickly Moonieantilib tried to change the subject.

HIS subject.

He's waving the white flag on his troll.

you forgot to mention how much democrats fear voter fraud investigations, huh?
actually, the last time I checked, they welcomed the investigations. what they object to is conservative voter supression.
you didn't check and liberals object to investigating it and are quick to dismiss it as you and your left-wing buddies have done in the past, next, lol!!

Checksums are useful for data integrity, not so much for data authenticity.

and that's the point. data integrity. there's nothing anyone can do if the person pulling the lever shouldn't be. after the lever is pulled, a checksum should ensure the vote is accurately counted.

Checksums are used for data integrity (such as ensuring all data was downloaded). They don't care about the data itself.
even with checksums you still don't know if the voting software is doing what its supposed to do (counting properly).
You still don't know if the checksum code was compromised.
You still don't know if the compiler is compromised (you know, hacked so that when it see voting machine code being compiled it inserts malicious code).
Compilers use code libraries and a large runtime, which is another vulnerability.

It is a massive problem. Oh, you also need to trust the hardware vendors as well as the people who maintain the machines.

That isn't voter fraud, but election fraud.

Electronic voting has opened up new possibilities for election fraud.
