We have seen liberal policies hurt our society before, but this is truly one for the books.
Joseph Matthew Smith, 23, a convicted child rapist, is about to be released from prison because he wants to change his gender.
The New Loophole
Smith has reportedly been convicted in 15 sex crimes against children ranging in age from one to 13 years old.
He was sentenced to jail in December 2015, but he is now about to be a free man.
Why? Because he is changing his gender.
According to the Iowa Attorney General’s office, it is “no longer seeking” his commitment because “offender’s hormone levels are an important part of substantiating an offender’s likelihood of recidivism.
“We don’t believe we have evidence sufficient to prove Josie Smith has a significant chance of reoffending.”
Smith has reportedly been receiving gender reassignment treatment for the last two years while imprisoned.
Beginning in October 2017, HE decided to transition, using female pronouns to describe himself and has also changed his preferred name to “Josie.”
Iowa AG spokesperson Lynn Hicks stated, “Josie Smith will be subject to strict sex-offender reporting required of those who commit the crimes she did.
“She’ll be subject to supervision for the rest of her life.”
Liberal Thinking
Dr. Jeffery Davis, the state’s “expert” witness, offered some insight to the offender and his future.
Dr. Davis stated, “The likelihood of re-offending within five years of release exceeded 20% because victims were of both genders, and because Smith was under age 25 and never had a long-term relationship.
“Mr. Smith has not had an intimate relationship.
“His sexual encounters appear to have primarily involved molestation, including his own molestation by multiple perpetrators, or his victimization of others.”
That 20 percent number is why Smith is being released, because the state requires a 51 percent possibility of re-offending.
So, what we have is a child sex offender who is either manipulating the system or a mental defective but either way, he is being set free after having molested more than a dozen children simply because HE now wants to be called Josie.
This is liberal America, patriots, and this is our future if we ever allow Democrats to expand their power.
