Callout thread to Falstaff

I have heard a couple people declare the failure rate of rebuilt automatic transmissions to be a huge percentage (can't remember the exact numbers but they were huge). I find this hard to believe. What is your experience?

Thanks for the PM.

The tranny in question is a 2001 Subaru 4EAT. It's in the Subie I bought for $1 last year. It still runs pretty well but the tranny is a little clunky at times. I've had enough cars to know I'm probably within a year of tranny failure.

The upside is I only put 6000 miles on the car in a year, so I'm not exactly working it to death
