Microsoft uploaded OneDrive onto my computer and I've never used it. Recently Microsoft scrubbed my computer and uploaded all of my photos and documents to OneDrive, and is now demanding I pay it a monthly fee (ransom) to access my own stuff. Not only is it holding my files hostage, but it is also blocking all inbound and outbound e-mails until I pay the ransom.
I have all my photos on a backup hard drive, but it was plugged in when Microsoft scrubbed my PC. I don't know if I am locked out of the backup drive or not as I haven't tried it yet.
Am I safe to just delete my files from OneDrive?
