Baltimore bridge collapse

Post by Shred » Tue Mar 26, 2024 7:06 am

This looks absolutely horrific.

A bridge collapsed after a container ship hit it, and there's people missing.

Thinking of the families of those injured / missing.

The ship appears to be in the shipping channel as it approaches the bridge, then suddenly veer towards the support.

On a British forum I heard she may have lost power as the lights went out before she crashed.

A terrible tragedy.

My thoughts are with the families of the victims.

I saw that too. The lights came back on before it veered off course though.

It's a wide shipping channel.

All foreign ships entering US waterways must take on a domestic pilot, who assumes command of the vessel for the duration of its stay if I understand the rules correctly.

Here is a longer video.

You can see the lights go out on the ship for 5-10 seconds, then come back on as it veers toward the bridge, then go off and on a couple more times before impact.

I do not see any vehicles on the bridge at the time it collapsed.
